Her main research interests concern epistemology and theory of children's literature, picturebooks, visual literacy, fairytales, the pedagogy of reading in preschoolers and school-age children, reading promotion,
reader-response theory, and contemporary Italian authors for children and adolescents
(Bruno Munari and Italo Calvino).
She is currently conducting several studies on spatiality and the “storytelling” objects in children’s literature.
